Tarheel National Results - Tanglewood NC!!
(May 29 & 30, 2004)
Tanglewood Park in Clemmons NC has to be one of the most beautiful parks on the NBL circuit. There's horseback riding, golf, lots of open space and even a bed and breakfast in the park. The Tarheel National in Tanglewood Park always seems to draw a strong gathering of Southeast and Northeast riders, making this a pretty big race. On Saturday Cory raced to a 2nd, 1st and 2nd in his motos but a stumble out of the start gate relinguished him to a 7th place Main event finish. On Sunday Cory improved some with two 1st places (doubled by the two moto system) and a 4th in his last moto. A 5th place in the Main on Sunday made this a rough weekend for our redhot racer from Tampa, but he'll be back! He vowed to redeem himself just as soon as possible.

East Coast National Results!!
(May 8 & 9, 2004)
Cory made a surprise visit at the East Coast National in Egg Harbor NJ on May 8th and 9th and was super stoked to see some ol' friends again and make his Hurricane Staats Racing debut. It's been 9 months since Cory raced with friends on new Jersey tracks like Egg Harbor, but for the East Coast National, it was as if he never left. He picked up right where he left off by hangin' with friends, winning some motos and enjoying the boards at Ocean City NJ. On Saturday there was a brisk wind that we thought would slow some of the smaller riders down since it was blowing right up the start hill, but not Cory. He raced to a 1st, 1st and 1st in his motos and a 2nd in his Main.
What a display on a track he hadn't been on in almost a year. Cory was edged out of 1st place in the Main only by Dillon Avilla of Virgina. On Sunday, (Mother's Day), Cory wanted to perfect for Mom. He again rocketed to a 1st, 1st and 1st in his motos and was on a tear for that special Mother's day gift, but once again could not get around Dillon Avilla in the Main and had to settle for another 2nd place. Congratulations to Dillon for an outstanding display of BMX power! All in all, an outstanding week of racing and visiting along with a great debut for Team Hurricane Staats Racing. Congratulations to all of the Hurricane Staats Racing riders as the team finished 3rd both days! Way to go!!! This is one su-per fast team that is sure to make some noise in 2004. It was great to be back on familiar ground and see our good friends. We hope to see you all again real soon!
Race Hard and See Ya on the Track!
